If the error message says 'Apple Mobile Device Driver not found' then it is an Apple problem, plain and simple. The mobile device driver for the iPhone comes from Apple, not from Microsoft.

Probably not .. and you haven't explained what was included in 'Apple have gone through everything.' It's time to start over by removing everything related to Apple and then reinstalling it properly.
